  • Choosing an employer to carry out VTE

The SSKŠ provides all students with an employer for the Practical Student Training. In the case where the school provides the student with an employer, students pick up the "INFORMATION ON APPLICATION ..." and return it, signed by the parents and the employer, to the VTE organizer(s) at the school.

Parents of students can suggest to the school an employer who is active in an activity relevant to the educational programme and who is willing to take their child on a PST. In this case, the parents select the form INFORMATION ON APPLICATION ... from the website of the "Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engeneering High School", under the "link" FORMS" - VTE... The "part" of this form is filled in by the parents and the other "part" is filled in by the employer. The student delivers the completed "Information on referral..." to the VTE organiser(s) at the school. The school manages the procedure thereafter.

  • Activities of companies where SSKŠ students will do VTE

Mechanical Technician Training Programme - various activities in the fields of production, assembly, work preparation, etc. in general mechanical engineering, energy, etc.

Chemical Technician Training Programme - various activities in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, paper and food industries, various analytical laboratories, etc.

Security Technician training programme - various activities in the field of private and public security of property and persons.

  • Documentation for implementation

The SSKŠ will conclude a collective learning agreement with employers for the provision of practical training through work and an annex to the agreement when a placement is made on a VTE.

INFORMATION ON THE PUPIL'S APPOINTMENT TO PUPILS' PUPIL TRAINEESHIPS, signed in the first phase by the student's parents, the employer and the school.

A report on the Pupil's VTE ("work diary"), which must contain as many "worksheets" as the number of days of the VTE.

  • Obligations of the school, employers and students

Obligations of the school, employers and students

Students will acquire relevant technical and occupational safety skills in practical training and other vocational subjects at school.

Students will pass an occupational safety knowledge test during practical training at the school.

The school will provide medical examinations and appropriate medical certificates for the students through approved clinics.

The school insures students under Article 17 of the Occupational Injuries and Occupational Diseases Act.

The employer shall inform the student of the specific nature of the work to be performed by the student on the VTE and of the occupational safety regulations in the specific field of work, and the employer shall provide the student with appropriate work and protective equipment.

The employer shall provide the student with a mentor who shall guide and supervise the student and sign the logbook of the VTE.

The employer shall provide the student with appropriate financial compensation in accordance with "laws and regulations".

Students shall perform the work conscientiously and safely as instructed by the mentor.

The student shall keep a "Worker's Diary" or a "VTE Report".

The student shall return the Student Work Diary, certified by the employer, on the first day after arrival at the school to the Student Organiser of the VTE at the school.

The diary must be formatted or written in accordance with the instructions and rules that the students will receive from the VTE organiser at the school. In case the diary does not comply with the requirements, the student will not have the obligations fulfilled, even though he/she has physically completed the VTE.

The school organises systematic medical examinations for students in Years 1 and 3. On the basis of the medical results of the systematic examination - each student receives the results in person - the student must inform the school of the work he/she is unable to perform or could perform adapted work. Apart from the systematic examinations organised by the school for the students, no other medical examinations are required for the VTE.
