The school counsellors are Martina Larsson and Marija Juran Kanellopulos.
The School Counselling Service is for students, parents and teachers. It helps students with their first-year enrolment, and informs and guides them when they are applying for higher vocational and university studies. It offers help with learning difficulties, personal problems and relationships.
They help parents deal with their children's growing-up problems and solve problems and difficulties.
Moreover, they help teachers resolve conflict situations in the classroom, participate in discussion sessions and, if necessary, in parent-teacher conferences.
Counselling sessions for the Mechanical Engineering Technician programme are carried out by Mrs. Martina Larsson, who is available every day from 8:00 to 15:00, 2nd floor, room 213.
Counselling sessions for the Chemical Technician and Security Technician programmes are held by Ms. Marija Juran Kanellopulos daily from 8.00 to 15.00, 2nd floor, room 209.
In the afternoons, both counsellors are present once a month for a joint discussion.
The Parents' Council is composed of one representative from each department, elected by the parents at the department's parent-teacher meeting.
Parents' Council:
- proposes extra-standard programmes,
- gives its consent to the Headteacher's proposal for extra-standard services,
- gives its opinion on the proposal for the kindergarten's or school's development programme and the annual work plan,
- discusses the headteacher's reports on educational issues,
- considers complaints from parents concerning educational work,
- elects representatives to the kindergarten and school councils, respectively,
- performs other tasks in accordance with the law and other regulations.
The Council of the Ljubljana School Centre, Aškerčeva 1, 1000 Ljubljana, at its meeting on 17th February 2009, adopted a Decision on the establishment of School Funds of the organisational units of the Ljubljana School Centre.
By this decision, the Council of the Ljubljana School Centre established a School Fund for each individual organisational unit of the institution, namely:
Gimnazija Antona Aškerca (Anton Aškerec Grammar School) School Fund,
the Woodwork High School School Fund and
the School Fund of the Mechanical and Chemical Engineering High School.
In accordance with Articles 48 and 135 of the Act on the Organisation and Financing of Education and Training - ZOFVI Official Journal of the RS, No 16/7- UPB 5 and SG No 36/2008, the following are defined in the founding decision:
- the purpose of the School Fund,
- the place of operation,
- the organs and working bodies,
- the governing board,
- working committees,
- supervision of the Fund,
- purpose of fundraising,
- the administrative and accounting work of the School Fund.
Once a year, the professional committees and the Principal of the SSKŠ shall prepare a proposal for the collection and purpose of the funds collected for the School Fund. At the first Parents' Council meeting of the school year, the Parents' Council decides on the acceptance of the proposal and the proposed amount of voluntary contributions to the School Fund. The decision of the Parents' Council shall be binding on the school management and the Board of Directors of the School Fund.
In order to modernise the teaching equipment and generally improve the working conditions in the school, we propose to the Parents' Council an " Extra Standard Fund ". The fund will be managed by a three-member supervisory body consisting of a parent representative, a teacher representative, a student representative and the head teacher as the governing body. The supervisory body will prepare a detailed financial report once a year on the use of the funds thus collected. The eventual extra-standard fund and the level of contributions will be defined at the first Parents' Council meeting.
Scholarships
On 2nd July 2013, the new Law on Scholarships (ZŠtip-1) was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia and will apply from 1st January 2014.

The parents' council is composed in such a way that each department has one representative in it, who is elected by the parents at the department's parents' meeting.
